Melmerby – A traditional Cumbrian village in the Eden Valley and within the North Pennines AONB.

Welcome to the website of Melmerby Parish Council – a valuable resource of information to all residents and the wider community.

Melmerby Parish Council hosted a Public Meeting to discuss traffic concerns in the village on Tuesday 15th February 2022. A summary of actions agreed by PC Norman Black, Chair of the Local CRASH Meeting (Casualty Reduction and Safer Highways) for Eden and North Cumbria, can be found below. A full summary of the meeting can be found here - Public Meeting Summary

We are a new council!

Melmerby Parish Council came into being in April 2019 following a Community Governance Review conducted by the local district authority – Eden District Council – where there was a clear wish of the electorate for the existing Ousby Parish Council (comprising a Melmerby ward and an Ousby ward) to be dissolved in favour of two discrete councils – Melmerby and Ousby.

We hope this site will be a two way channel of advice, assistance and information between the council and those who read its pages.
